![]() That price is often times triple net.īuild the car. Some of the other plans will have a lower price those are for different things such as a corporate Ford employee. Ask to see the invoice and whatever it says in the X plan box + $100 doc fee is your price. When creating a order they will not be able to generate a invoice immediately and that is where the X plan number is located. Currently any dealer that has the allocation and that will take your X plan discount is going to be the best deal you can get hands down. Back in the day you could negotiate a better deal without X plan. Plus like I said they still get the hold back. Because X plan was a free sale to them and most likely financing. The dealership is under no obligation to honor X plan pricing and can just refuse the sale. This saves you a good chunk of change at most dealers. The doc fee used to be capped at $75 and now it is capped at $100. ![]() some right and some wrong.Īs someone who used to run a Ford dealership let's go over a few things.įirst off X plan pricing generally speaking is a couple hundred bucks over MSRP and the dealer gets to keep the hold back. Lots and lots of information in this thread. I have a feeling the market is going down (watching the value of my old car decrease before I sold it to them definitely made it look like it), so we’ll see. This gives me some time to see if I can find a 2021 gently used with all the options I want prior to taking delivery. The bright side of this is my deposit (which they never actually processed lol) at the other dealer is fully refundable. I feel crazy for cancelling, but I agree, the dealer would have found a way to screw me over. I still think it’s crazy that 5 days after placing my first order, it was scheduled. That being said, I’ll now be stuck waiting for my other order to schedule. I texted the sales guy and followed up to my last unanswered cancellation request email this morning saying I want to cancel as originally requested. They pushed back and I wasted some time to see if my other order with the much better dealer would schedule the rest of last week or today/yesterday, but it did not. They pushed back but I insisted that I technically (in writing) requested cancellation and refund before vin was created (the day before), and that it’s not my fault the guy who does orders wasn’t there. I decided to listen to the greater forum, as I should have done when I was there.
