Don't get me wrong, it's a fun level like the rest (and it captures Halloween's atmosphere quite well,) but it simply isn't as scary. It's needlessly obtuse and lacks tension due to some mechanical deviation from the other levels. Through trial and error you learn how to beat the levels without getting hit even once. When you first start, you'll be confused and all of your characters will likely die in horrific ways. There aren't many games that capture the "vibes" of 70s/80s horror flicks but this does it perfectly. It's a genuine gem that oozes passion and love for horror. I've had it since it was just the first episode and I've come back to it periodically throughout the years. This is one of those games with a special place in my heart. It's not a hard no from me, it's got it's charm and I think people will enjoy playing it. The 5th game is an exception, it has goals, puzzles and a story but it's sadly buggy (Sometimes game breakingly so- I had to reset a few times as the 'marks' didn't change for me/ a key didn't seem to spawn) It can be hard to tell if you're doing things correctly. When you start the games up you're always just plopped into a scenario without knowing what your objective is. Long story short, lots of potential but not much direction. no reward for it though and it just kinda ends. There's also a puzzle in the hub world that I actualy managed to solve- there's. the ending feels a little clunky but hey, it was a pretty decent short puzzle. I got the gist of what to do pretty quickly it was just doing it. There's also a christmas special one, quick and simple. Won't spoil it but I just couldn't be bothered doing the things the walkthrough went through, I will say that it's not really a puzzle game like the 5th one. It started to feel like a battle royal shooter but the enemies don't seem killable. It was pretty unclear what I was doing, was I excaping.? Am I to destroy the base? There's some clues around but stuff turns to hell aaaaand I gave up from here. No idea where I was, kinda like an SCP containment style area. It's a really cool concept- that's slightly too buggy and has a few puzzles that are easy to miss out on but feel pretty well done. He hangs around attempting to stab you but appears to unable to do any damage. The killer occasionally just appears and. Then these marks (No spoilers on this, it's a cool idea) the marks can glitch, requiring a restart as they can become stuck. The key didn't spawn for me at the start, after looking through a walkthrough this occasionally seems to happen. I won't put spoilers down but I really liked the concept. ![]() Super cool, plus people start getting weird marks and. Newspapers give you an idea on what happened, there's mysterious stuff happening, there's a ton of cool hints, the weegie (However it's spelt) board that gives clever hints and back story. am I just here to kill everyone?)ĥth game was the coolest by far, this almost made me want to recommend the collection. trying to get out.? Or go into the mansion? Or. It seemed kinda interesting but there wasn't much direction on what my goal was (Am I. I was a little disappointed, kinda thought there was a puzzle or something but it just feels a bit clunky with the only goal being 'Kill everything that's not your team.Ĥth game, same again but things were randomized. there's actually nothing else, you just need to beat the hell out of everyone. ![]() So- he seems immortal.? Maybe there's something else? infact, a second killer came up and I was out of items. Now he's here-! I set him on fire multiple times, dropped a crate on his head, shot him, gave him some kinda item that stops him from attacking, beat him with an axe, set him on fire again, tried to run him over with a bike. a lot of time passed by.Īlright, wasn't super clear. So- that's what I did and I waited for him to come.Īnd I waited. Anyway, after dieing a few times, I got the gist. There's no real instructions, so it took me a while to realise I could control the other characters. ![]() I started on the 3rd game because I had no idea where game 1 and 2 were. It's split into multiple games, so it might get a little long. Gave me some big smiles, love the pixel style, I was fairly excited to play. The concept is fun, like- after running around a bit I picked up a dog and yeeted it at a dude who fell into a river.
